It treats the skin under and towards the sides of the eyes, that has become crepey and lax due to ageing. It also serves as a non-surgical alternative to mild-moderately severe eye bags.

The eye threads used are made of polydioxanone (PDO) which are safe and completely absorbable. Upon insertion into the skin, they fire up a regenerative process which brings about skin remodelling, contracting and tightening the loose wrinkly skin as a result. The skin also reacts with the threads through a controlled inflammatory reaction that breaks down fat (lipolysis) in the case of an eye bag (when fat tissues under the eye protrude because of laxity in the skin/ligaments). Overall, the skin under the eyes is tightened and improved, giving a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

The face is cleansed. Numbing cream is applied over treatment area.

Entry points are marked. Local anaesthesia is injected at all points. Treatment area is cleaned and sterilized. A fine needle is used to make a small nick at the entry points. The eye threads are then inserted carefully. The whole procedure is largely painless and comfortable.

Treatment time is typically less than 30 minutes.

There is minimal downtime:

Needle marks at the entry points
Zero to small chance of bruising

There is a gradual and progressive improvement in the quality of skin over the next 2-6 months. Loose crepey skin becomes tighter while dark circles and eye bags are softened. An overall rejuvenation in the area under the eye is achieved, giving you a revitalized appearance.

Individual results may vary.

The treatment may be repeated annually.

Eye threads are often combined with other modalities such as Thermage eyes and fillers for best rejuvenating outcomes of the eye area.
